The security of the world's tallest statue in Gujarat's Narmada will be handled by the Central Industrial Security Force. Around 10,000 visitors visit the statue on a daily average. More than 50 years old central armed police force is deployed at the airports and metro stations in the union territories. CISF will deploy 270 armed personnel at the Statue of Unity. The prime minister of India Narendra Modi inaugurated the statue on the mark of the 143rd anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first deputy prime minister of the country on 31 October 2018.

The Department of Investment and Public Asset Management released a corrigendum declaring that the deadline has been exceeded in view of requests received from interested bidders. The first EoI for this bid was released in January 2020, which was exceeded several times and has again been extended by two months.

The Indian health ministry has asserted that Russia has approached them to partner in producing the COVID vaccine. Initial literals have been shared initiating the process. Russia has said that India is capable of producing vaccines on a large scale. Russia had launched its alleged COVID vaccine Sputnik-V on August 11. Though it has not been approved by any international body like the World Health Organization, many are speculating it as a major breakthrough in the fight against the global pandemic. Since India is 3rd among the countries with the highest number of Coronavirus cases globally, it seeks to take all possible initiatives opening doors for a viable vaccine as soon as possible.
Opposition Demands to Postpone JEE NEET Exams
The issue of conducting JEE and NEET exams during a global pandemic has taken a political turn now. Opposition parties are running Social media campaigns against the release of admit cards for JEE and NEET exams by the Government. Many opposition leaders including the leader of Congress parliamentary party in Loksabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have written to the PM Modi demanding the postponement of the JEE and NEET exams. Banerjee has written two letters to the prime minister in two days addressing the same issue. Deputy CM & Education Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia asked the central government to either postpone the exams or come up with an apt alternative.
NIA Files Chargesheet on Pulwama Attack
National Investigation Agency filed a charge sheet regarding the brutal Pulwama attack on CRPF jawans on 14 February 2019 in Jammu and Kashmir. 40 CRPF jawans were martyred in this coward act. Adil Ahmad Dar, a local resident has rammed a car filled with explosives into the bus carrying CRPF personnel. It had later paced tensions between India and Pakistan. The charge sheet has named 19 people said to have carried out the coward act on the sponsorship of Pakistan. It includes the names of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar, his brothers Abdul Rauf Asghar and Ammar Alvi, and nephew Umar Farooq.
